IT WON'T BE EASY

The Chiefs and Chargers finished last season with the best records in the AFC at 12-4 and have the talent to sit atop The AFC regular season again. But it won't be easy, as the Broncos and Raiders are expected to be competitive if they can get consistent contributions on both sides of the ball.

2019 AFC WEST PRESEASON VIEW
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

The Chiefs come into the 2019 season with some lofty expectations but also as the hunted, after coming up a few plays short in their AFC Championship game loss to New England last year. With the exception of parting ways with some long time veterans and losing a few players to free agency, Kansas City returns all of their top players including Quarterback Patrick Mahomes who is looking to secure his spot among the NFL elite after taking home MVP honors a year ago.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

With the exception of star Running Back Melvin Gordon holding out in search of a new contract, the Chargers are ready once again ready to stake their claim as one of the AFC's elite teams. With Pro Bowlers and proven players on both sides of the football, the Chargers are looking to make amends for their mistakes and short comings over the years, with hopes of providing  Quarterback Phillip Rivers a shot at winning the Super Bowl.

DENVER BRONCOS

Denver comes into the 2019 season feeling pretty good about themselves, despite a frustrating end to last season. The Broncos return all of their top players from a year ago and have upgraded the Quarterback position with veteran Joe Flacco coming over from Baltimore. The division is one of the toughest in the NFL but if Chris Harris and Emmanuel Sanders can get back to full strength and playing at a high level, Denver should be able to contend for a Playoff spot.

2018 RECORDS

Kansas City Chiefs 12-4

Los Angeles Chargers 12-4

Denver Broncos 6-10

Oakland Raiders 4-12

OAKLAND RAIDERS

The Raiders come into this season as a true enigma, with modest expectations but high hopes. On offense, they made a big splash by trading for All Pro Wide Receiver Antonio Brown who came over from Pittsburgh. Brown and free agent Tyrell Williams will be expected to give a big boost in the passing game and improve the offense overall. Oakland's defense however is a different story, as the projected starting lineup is unproven to say the least. Once again Head Coach Jon Gruden has his hands full.
