VALUE WITH UPSIDE

After the first two tiers of Fantasy Quarterbacks are gone, NFL Fantasy Football Expert Analyst Lance Goodman tells owners why they should not hesitate to grab one of these players.

11. KIRK COUSINS, WAS
13. MATTHEW STAFFORD, DET
12. JAMEIS WINSTON, TB

Washington Quarterback Kirk Cousins has proven himself as a strong Fantasy option over the last 2 seasons with over 9,000 passing yards and 54 TD passes. In the offseason he lost veteran Wide Receivers DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon to free agency but still has Wide Out Jamison Crowder and Tight End Jordan Reed from last year, plus a nice free agent acquisition from Cleveland in Wide Receiver Terelle Pryor Sr. In a pass balanced offense with 3 proven targets, Cousins has everything he needs to keep his numbers in the range of what they've been over the last 2 years.

Tampa Quarterback Jameis Winston makes for quite the prospect this year. He's made good progress and shown growth but it isn't always reflected in his fantasy football numbers. His play can be erratic at times and his interception totals need to come down but all in all, he's right on the verge of putting it all together. The offense should also be more balanced with the arrival of free agent Wide Receiver Desean Jackson, the emergence of Tight End Cameron Brate and talented rookie Tight End O.J. Howard.

Matthew Stafford has regained the trust of fantasy owners after finally putting together consecutive years of Pro Bowl caliber play. He's always had the talent but a high turnover ratio made it hard for owners to trust him. Detroit continues to be a pass happy offense, so as long as his main 3 targets in Golden Tate, Marvin Jones and Eric Ebron can stay healthy, Stafford will continue to be worth starting in most league formats.

14. RUSSELL WILSON, SEA

Russell Wilson is another intriguing Quarterback because of his potential if the Hawks passing game was hitting on all cylinders. Wide Receiver Doug Baldwin has emerged as a big time play maker but the other Seattle receivers aren't consistent. Couple that with some up and down play from Tight End Jimmy Graham and it's evident, Wilson could post bigger stats. Wilson can also pick up points on the ground, which makes him a viable start on most Sundays.

15. ANDY DALTON, CIN

Cincinnati Quarterback Andy Dalton was really putting it all together back in 2015 when he had Pro Bowler A.J. Green, Mohmaed Sanu and Marvin Jones at Wide Receiver along with Pro Bowl Tight End Tyler Eifert. Dalton had matured into a more patient QB able to utilize all of his weapons to compliment a diverse running game. If he could have kept those pieces together, I would be very confident in him as a weekly starter and a Top 10 Fantasy Quarterback talent but currently that's not the case. Sanu and Jones left as free agents last year, leaving only Green and Eifert. The latter are top tier talents so Dalton still has value but he can't be totally trusted on a weekly basis.
