Week 1 Review

BOOM!

Detroit Rookie T.J. Hockensen could be in line for a big year as a fantasy Tight End. He set an NFL record for most receiving yards by a Tight End in their first game with 131. He did it on 6 catches and added a touchdown for extra measure. Evan Engram got off to a hot start with 11 catches for 111 yards and a TD. The Giants are expected to play from behind quite a bit this season, which bolds well for Engram in terms of a consistent amount of weekly targets. Mark Andrews is a guy who shot up a lot of rankings boards in the two weeks leading up to Live Drafts and his 8 catches for 108 yards and TD performance in Week 1 showed why. The Ravens offense looks to be completely rebuilt and Andrews is one of the top targets for sophomore Quarterback Lamar Jackson. Veteran Delanie Walker got off to a strong start in his first action back after missing last year with an injury. His 5 catches for 55 yards were a good line for PPR formats but his 2 TD catches broke the bank and made him a Top 5 play even in standard leagues. Vernon Davis is another veteran who made an impact in Week 1. He had 59 receiving yards a great TD, in which he hurdled a defender and ran another 25 yards into the end zone. David Njoku, Jimmy Graham and Jason Witten didn't have much to show for in terms of receiving yards but all had a TD reception. Travis Kelce should also be on this list but Quarterback Patrick Mahomes over threw him badly, when Kelce was wide open in the end zone. Nonetheless, the elite play maker had 88 yards on just 3 catches. Austin Hopper, Darren Waller, Hunter Henry, Zach Ertz and George Kittle all had pretty good games. Hooper is starting to become a trust worthy option at Tight End. His 9 catches for 77 yards hold a lot of weight in full PPR formats. Waller was also a welcomed surprise with 7 catches for 70 yards and looks to be a main target for Quarterback Derek Carr, so owners definitely want to track his production. Kittle also gave strong PPR value with 8 catches for 54 yards. His 11 targets should make his owners very happy! Hunter Henry had a nice return back to action after missing last year with an ACL. He had 4 catches for 60 yards but suffered an injury earlier this week that will side line him for 4-6 weeks. That is not a good sign. Zach Ertz had 5 catches for 54 yards, which holds more weight in PPR formats. The encouraging news is that he had 7 targets and is without question a top option I the Eagles passing game.

BUST!

O.J. Howard had a day everyone would like to forget. He only had 2 yards and dropped a ball that turned into an interception. Needless to say, better days are ahead. Eric Ebron was silent as well and could have had a touchdown, if it weren't for him not having full control of the ball while inbounds. Jared Cook, Tyler Eifert, Noah Fant and Greg Olsen are other noteworthy names that didn't do much for your lineup this week.
